Hatch Ride choir performing in Princess Square

Well, this turned out to be an exceptional performance. With the little aid of a, well, shall we say, draq queen ?! Enjoy. Very british, indeed. Bracknell is in Berkshire, southwest of England. Some people have this to say about it. I must admit the number of 15yr old pushing their prams thru the city is astonishing.

I have learned a couple of things in the meantime. First of all, it was not a draq-queen, it was an actor playing in a "Jack Beanstalk" production taking place around here. November/December are popular here in the UK for pantomime productions, and this is one of them. Pantomime is not very popular in Germany, but very much so over here. You live and learn.

You know you are in SFO, when ...

all the wireless networks are secured. That's a first a see that all of them are locked.

SFO is getting free wireless from Google. That is really cool. So of course I post this from a downtown cafe ;-)

What a wonderful morning ...

... this is!

So much going on.

So with a family of five, an international move, relatives dispersed all over the planet it is hard to find a starting point for all the things happening in the last, gosh! six months when I last updated this blog. Partially this has to do with me not starting up Notes for the longest time. I am a 100% Linux convert by now and I just cannot be bothered to boot into Windows (and my VMware partition is too small to even hold my mailfile ;-) -and had only limited success with 6.0.4 on Suse 9.3 using Wine. I probably learned more about Linux in the last six months than in the six years before, thanks to my colleages at work and out on the net. I am deeply immersed into a software company (Scalix) again. Which is truly a great experience! To release a major software product is such a huge undertaking, let me tell you that ! We have been thru three releases since I joined in March! Since March, we shipped 9.2, a patch release 9.2.1 on the heels and 9.4 (that's marketing for you!). 10.0 is scheduled for the end of the year. So lotsa things happening on that front. My kids and wife are all well, I wish I could say the same things about my sisters. I can't write about them but things are not looking good. I guess it is [insert higher being of your choice] way of telling how insignificant our ramblings and doings are.

This is much easier than using Notes ...

as it fully integrates with Picasa and that is where our family picture are stored anyway. So I am thinking of switching completely to this blog.
