Housing boom and crash

Well I have been thinking now for a while that just like any other excess, the current housing boom must soon come to an abrupt end. Is the IKB bank crisis in Germany just one indication of this ?

At any rate, I think we will see some interesting action in the market after the summer.

4.2, shook me up in the middle of the night... A couple of seconds bumping up and down, vertical movement and then it was over. Rolled over and fell asleep again. Pheeeeew...

Der 4. Juli 2007

Ganz Amerika ist auf Achse. Der 4. Juli schweisst die Nation zusammen. Buchstäblich. Denn die Temperaturen haben die 100 Grad Fahrenheit nicht nur erreicht, sondern überschritten. Ich hätte ja ein Foto vom Thermometer gemacht, aber wir haben die Kamera zuhause gelassen. So staune ich beim Blick auf das Thermometer und denke still in mich hinein - 36 Grad sind warm.

Selbst für Südkalifornien. Wir geniessen eine Woche Urlaub. Die Familie trifft sich in Ojai, Grandma lädt zum verweilen am Pool ein. Den Kindern gefällts, den Erwachsenen auch. Eine Woche Urlaub ist kurz, aber schön.

Die Rosenparade

The city of roses - hat natürlich auch eine Rosenparade. Die ist dieses Jahr aber recht feucht gewesen.

Commuting by ferry

I have to admit this is the nicest commute I ever had to work. So a couple of things have changed rather suddenly. I find myself working in the Bay Area again, 10 years after I left c:Mail in Mountain View. Now I have the privilege to work in the city, opposite of the ball park. What a nice change to working from home that is. It comes with many challenges, but we will overcome them one by one. Right now, I feel energized by the commute and that can only be a good thing.

So the cube thing in PDX is definitely not going to happen. However, my commute is still about five miles. It was five miles in Bracknell, five miles in Porland and again it is 5.3 mls in San Francisco. That seems to be my equilibrium.

Looking forward to go home on the weekends, though.

11 Meilen pro Tag

sind nicht wirklich viel. Eigentlich sind es noch nicht mal 12, sondern eher 10.6. Aber egal - Hauptsache, ich fahre wieder mit dem Fahrrad ins Buero. Das ist naemlich jetzt im Cubespace PDX.

Habe ich schon erwaehnt, dass meine Kinder singen koennen? Zum Beispiel Elena Anna.
